What!? She's Alive?!

Weird Science.

Ahem. I realise it has been a month since I last posted. I have wanted to, believe me, on some of my better days, but of course, those were the days I had no time to post. I do apologise.

My weekends of the past month have been absolutely incredible, but the second I'm back in the real world, life sucks. But the good must always come with the bad, and it is my goal to make the good stand out. So I will focus on the incredible weekends instead.

Three weeks ago, for example, I went on a lovely hike along a nudist beach. Thankfully, it was deserted (aside from some surfers in wetsuits). It was only three hours, but really pretty. There was also a rusty shipwreck.  I have photos which I will one day publish.
Two weeks ago I went on another hike, this one along a flowery mountain. I am pleased to say I was stronger than the leader

Last weekend was the most fun I've had in days. My mother, one of her friends and I went to a little wine making town out in the country. We had a picnic lunch at one of the wine farms and a fancy dinner. It was incredible.
The next day we went for a tea garden breakfast (Curiously they only sold sandwiches and sausage rolls). We then pottered on to the local motor museum. Ultimate car porn.
I then sat alone in a cafe drinking tea and writing a book (All I needed was a purple hat to complete the ensemble) while my mother and her friend did the wine tasting experience.
Lunch  on a hilltop and home in time for tea.

Since I've been going through a hard time I cannot set out a challenge for you. I just want to say thank you to those still reading. So, thanks you made my day.

I Am No Natasha Romanov

I am back, New Heroes. Let's call it a hostage situation, and be done with it.

Anyway, after an eventful few weeks of dashing around like a headless chicken, I finally found the time to sit down and write. Unfortunately, it was the complete wrong day for blogs, and I ended up gaming instead.

So, I hung out with a bunch of friends, had an unhappy moment of exams (Insert sad face here) and hung out with the other side of the family. Which almost drove me crazy

Geometris is still proving tricky (getting there), but what I do sort of have is a mascot for the site. As far as I know, his name's Chris, and he is my fictional and hero-type avatar

So, as a challenge to me I'm going to try for a post next week (or at least an excuse).

As a challenge to you, New Heroes, I want you to reconnect with a loved one. Or connect with one. Either way. Have fun with that.

Onward, Grey Note, to avenge your kidnappers. Halt, Time Thief!

I Believe There Is Good Pop Music

This may be my last post for a while. I have things to do over the next few weeks. I'm trying something new, by the way- updating on Sunday!

Recently people have been complaining about the apparent lack of anything good, or anything worthwhile today. I disagree. There is food. A well-cooked meal is among the best things one can have. There is British  televison. Thats often well-worth the half hour.
And then there is you. Who's to say you can't make a difference. After all, who am I to tell you how to live, and why you should be happy. Yet I do it anyway, because I believe that it's worth it. The time I spend doing this is a bright spot in my life, and I hope it becomes a bright spot in others' too.

But I don't know why I'm telling you this, fellow New Heroes. You already understand what I'm trying to do. And you're helping, which is worth more than you will ever know. So thank you.

For the first time since starting this blog, I actually don't know what to say. Usually directors and leaders and such get feedback. You aren't soldiers, New Heroes, you are allowed to question me, or tell me I'm being a complete idiot. Or positive feedback. That's always nice.

I've recently felt like I was losing one of my best friends. We've worked things out (Sort of; I'm still not entirely happy) and we're well on the road to recovery. My challenge for you this week is to reinforce your friendships, and remind youreself of what your friends mean to you. If you need to, make amends. Trust me, it hurts less to say you're sorry than it does losing a friend.

Lycra's always worth a laugh...

Things Are... Delicately Balanced

It's been a weird fortnight, New Heroes. Long story short, I went into my dark place. And it was sad. But I'm all better, now. I think. But onto happier matters.

My cat is bipolar. I swear it. But I'll figure her out... eventually. But the point is, she's really cute, and quite a lot of fun when she attacks other people. Emphasis on other people... (I know... I should feel bad for them, but when a tiny cat attacks a full-grown human, you'd have to be a saint not to laugh.)

I really need to start blogging weekly. And figure out what I'm going to do about my Geometris comic. I've drawn some, but I need a scanner and a place to put them. The place will probably be easy enough to create, it's the scanner that's the problem. Also, I can't remember what happened last week.

I've decided to give you a difficult challenge this week because last fortnight's was pretty pathetic: Face a fear. I'm not asking you to go into intensive treatment for a phobia (But if you do, that's great). I'm talking about the little things. Stand on behind the rail on a balcony, and hold on if you get vertigo. Crush a spider with a shoe, rather than getting your boyfriend/ friend/ parent to do it.  Stand in a hive of bees if you're allergic. (No, don't, that's just idiocy.) I'm rehabilitating myself to dogs (I was bitten a month or so back. I've been rather wary since then) and it seems to be working okay.

Until next time, when Grey Note defeats... No, sorry, that's been cancelled.

Abandonment Issues

So... One day I shall turn this into a weekly thing.

Way down South, where I live, we had a long weekend. Absolute bliss. I got to hang out with really awesome people, and just have a very good time.

As far as other things go, stress is a major problem. Projects, projects, projects. One, not even half done, due at the end of this week. (Not Monday). But through it all I will keep smiling. After all, even Spiderman has his off-days.

In other news, says J. Jonah Jameson, I am a dismal failure of a reporter, and Grey Note can't even follow her own advice. (What's with all the Spidey references? I mean, he's cool and all, but any other superhero would desecrate him) But, yes, although I have managed some of my challenges, several still escape my grasp.

Oh, oh, before I forget. I, artistically challenged as I am, am starting a webcomic-- eventually. It's called Geometris, and it's about a guy and his dog Geometris. More than that I cannot tell you, because more than that I do not know.

This week (or fortnight, whatever) I challenge you to do as my best friend Red Stand did, and go absolutely mad. Dance without pants on, if you will. Actually, on second thought, don't because that would be weird.

Grey Note over and out.

Dr Connors, Sir, The Wi-Fi Down

DC has had enough, I think, so I shall now start poking fun at Marvel.

I apologise for my extended absence; life just seemed to spin wildly out of control for a few days.

First off, I was in a play. The people I met there were absolutely incredible (and, tragically, live very, very far away) and I loved every moment of it. Backstage that is.
I hate to admit it to you, New Heroes, but I am a coward. I have stage fright.

I meant to post yesterday, but couldn't as my black spot, as it were, returned in full force. I hope that it has passed, and shan't return. Smiles were few yesterday afternoon.

Updates may only be sporadic over the next few weeks, as my alter ego has a lot piling up in the 'real world'. I will honestly try for updates as frequently as possible, but as Alt (what my persona shall hereby be known as) may not have time for the ol' mask and cape... I'm truly sorry.

This week, New Heroes, I challenge you to do something you have never done before, even- no especially- if it frightens you. The people you meet along the way will astound you, and the lives you will change, encourage you.

May your light ever shine (What now?)

Attention, Attention!

My best friend, for interest's sake let's call her Red Stand, has had a really bad day. Or a bad week, rather.

Since it is unfair, and a violation of privacy to talk about what happened online, I just wanted to say that Red Stand, wherever you may be, whomever is with you, I, Grey Note, and my fellow New Heroes (If you don't care, then shame on you. I care about your best friend, and would go out of my way to help them if they were sad) wish to tell you that you mean something. And you mean so much more happy.

We care. Me and the twenty other page views I have. We all care.

Don't let the creepy Indian puppets freak you out.

Is It A Bird? Is It A Plane?

Last Superman reference for a while, I swear.

Smiles were put on hold as schools start up again this week as schools resume. That would be a brilliant newspaper article. Full of hard-hitting news on why twelve years of schooling is completely unnecessary. Or some such nonsense.

One of my friends is absolutely bonkers. She went to India, and brought things back for everybody. I mean, everybody. Accompany this with gestures from your best friend saying as much. Hilarity ensues.

How far would you go for your friends, fellow New Heroes? And what would you bring back for them?

I challenge you this week to not judge and not condescend.

Lets save the world one good word at a time.

The Cave Of Solitude Needs Better Wi-Fi

Hello there. I apologise for my extended absence. I need to establish a routine.

Anyway, the past two weeks have been busy. Coming home, then jetting off to a camp, where I realised that no matter how happy you are on your own, you need people beside you to be truly happy. This is especially true when you're on your own surrounded by people that all have somebody.

Happiness can also come in the form of a six-week-old kitten.

I challenge you, New Heroes, to make a new friend this week. Smile at a stranger (several if possible), and maybe we can make someone's day look just a little brighter.

Monday, 25 June 2012

Welcome, fellow New Hero.

My name is Grey Note. If you have eyes (I apologize if you don't), then you're probably aware of all the crap that's happening throughout the world. But I'm not here to talk about that. I want to see the good in this world, what it is us New Heroes, and the Marvel heroes of old were fighting for.

Or, maybe, it will just be a rambling account of why life is worth living.

All in all, it will be an optimistic journey, and I sincerely hope you share my sentiments.

If you don't, I don't consider you a true New Hero.
